
It looks like US Airways (LCC) is taking a page out of Gordan Bethune’s play book. The
Each US Airways employee will earn a $50 bonus for each condition if it is met. Employees have to get at least 60 percent of flights pushed back on time and they have to have less than 7 mishandled bags per 1,000.
If both goals are met, each of the 36,000 US Airways employees will get a $100 bonus. As of Sunday, US Airways spokesman Phil Gee said the airline was meeting their goal with 60.9% of flights pushing back on time and 6.15 mishandled bags.
It’s a good thought. Everyone could use the extra money this time of the year. But the results will tell the real story. Can US Airways meet their goal? Will meeting that goal take more than a little money incentive? Does it take a bigger change from the top to the bottom?
