Baggage handlers are back to work after they walked off the job late yesterday in Adelaide Airport in Australia. Qantas baggage handlers walked off the job to protest moves by the airline that would outsource some baggage handling jobs.
Several flights into Adelaide were affected by the nearly 100 workers that stopped working whilst Qantas found replacements to handle the baggage.
Even flights bound for Adelaide were slowed due to staff supporting the baggage handlers in Adelaide. Perth services were affected too.
Transport Workers Union spokesman Alex Gallacher said the workers and the airline had agreed to postpone discussions until next month.
"There's a moratorium or a cooling off period until the 30th of January,” said Mr Gallacher.
