Hopefully your holidays are going well; unfortunately for many MAXjet passengers that story is not going to ring true. On December 24, 2007, the day before Christmas, MAXjet grounded all planes and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The airline has cited rising fuel costs and the inability to secure additional funds as the reason.
On the airline’s website, the airline’s President and CEO W. Stockbridge, said, “With today’s fuel prices and the resulting impact on the credit climate for airlines, we are forced to take this drastic measure.”
They certainly did take a drastic measure, chapter 11 bankruptcy. The airline has secured 500 seats on EOS and 450 rooms in London, New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, the markets the airline served.
If you have not started travel on MAXjet, you can secure a refund from your point of purchase, most likely the credit card company. If you have started travel, you will be contacted by the airline about your new itineraries.

Silverjet have managed to get themselves some nice publicity by claiming they will honour Maxjet bookings for the same price. Unfortunately for passengers like us who were booked to LA or Las Vegas, Silverjet mean they will charge you the same price as paid to LA but only get you as far as N. York.
They have us over a barrel and know it. Any reasonable request ie dates/times etc is met with an instant no and their attitude is like theyre flying you free!!
Complements of the season Silverjet. Im sure your day will come.
