Welcome to the future of airline flight plans.
Honolulu based, Aloha Airlines has become the first airline in the world to have its pilots sign off on flight plans electronically, eliminating its fax and paper system.
Aloha Airlines has partnered with DocuSign.com to allow their pilots to quickly and easily file and electronically sign mission-critical flight plans. "Aloha will be using DocuSign's secure enterprise-class eSignature service, providing the airline with detailed, real-time audit record of each step of the transaction. Secure and fully encrypted, DocuSign helps Aloha Airlines to meet the Federal Aviation Administration’s rigorous standards for maintaining and archiving full, detailed records of any changes to flight plans."
“Aloha Airlines is another great example of how DocuSign’s eSignature technology accelerates the speed of business and drives a direct impact on a company’s bottom line,” said Matthew J. Schiltz, CEO and President of DocuSign.
This should help keep costs down at the airline that has seen an increase in operating costs over the years and is battling Mesa for Hawaiian airline passengers. Not only can Aloha save on paper costs but look at how the airline can promote itself as going a bit more GREEN. Something that is becoming increasingly important to many consumers.

Umm, no. Most major airlines perform this transaction electronically. Aloha is far from the first.
