A former regional carrier for American Airlines is sueing the federal government for $11.6 million. The suit alleges that the Federal Aviation Administration illegally forced RegionsAir to shut down operations in March over questionable training programs.
RegionsAir filed suit in U.S. Federal court yesterday seeking nearly $12 million plus interest from the government. The lawsuit says that U.S. Senator Dick Durbin- Illinois (D) lobbied for the shutdown.
The new management team at RegionsAir has some strong words for former employees. The company is looking to get back to flying in the near future and has invited former employees to reapply at the airline.
“…Please do not misuse [chat forum] by slandering those you MAY THINK were responsible. That will not get you your job back. It is not to point blame or find fault. Facts are fine; be ready to support your words or keep it to yourself if you can't. Remember that it is not possible to FIX something unless you know the problem(s). There will be no band aids here.”
The new management team over at RegionsAir lays it out for all to read.
