Frontier Airlines Holdings Inc. (FRNT) the parent company of Frontier Airlines continues to expand to Mexico.  The carrier added new routes to Mexico from Milwaukee, Sacramento and San Jose.  The airline which recently learned that their CEO would be leaving for another position with a Denver based resort company has faced some difficulties lately. 

The company’s march into Mexico has helped diversify the company’s domestic routes.  The airline will use E170’s and their Airbus A319’s and A320’s on the routes to Mexico.  Frontier Airlines now offers 13 cities with non-stop services to Mexico. 

"When we launched service to Cancun in 2002, we embarked on an ambitious strategy to bring low-cost, high-quality travel to the Denver-to-Mexico corridor," said Jeff Potter, president and CEO of Frontier Airlines.

Since starting services to Mexico in 2002, Frontier has flown 800,000 passengers south of the border.  This has been a very wise decision for Frontier.  It really has paid off for them. 

Just last month, Frontier Airlines broke their own record load factor, filling 88.5 percent of their flights.  This is a big deal considering the number of new destinations that came online in recent months.
