Airtran Airways (AAI) is going head to head with Delta Air Lines and JetBlue Airways. The carrier announced they will begin seasonal service from Boston Logan to West Palm Beach. The new route will begin daily non-stop service on November 15th departing Boston slightly after noon and returning mid-evening.
Fares are expected to start at just $99 one way.
“Boston is such an important market for us, and demand is growing,” Dick Haller, the West Palm Beach airport’s marketing director.
With a quick check (one adult depart Boston Nov. 16 and return Nov 19), JetBlue Airways and Delta Air Lines are both running about $300 roundtrip, while AirTran Airways is coming in near $240 roundtrip.
It will be an interesting match up. Let's see if AirTran keeps the service seasonal or on their year round flight schedule.
