The Roos got company on their Australia-US route.  Australia’s Virgin Blue has finally named their long-haul international airline. 

V Australia’s launch aircraft will be a Boeing 777-300ER named "Didgeree Blue.”  The branding was designed to keep the airline in touch with its Virgin Blue roots and includes a silver fuselage with a red tail featuring the stars of the Southern Cross and elements of the Australian flag.  The southern cross also highlights historic aviation moments in Australia. 

This airline will be the fourth in the series by Virgin Blue, including a partnership with a foreign government. 

Brett Godfrey, Virgin Blue chief executive, said: "This is the first time in decades Australia has a start-up, long-haul international airline and we look forward to bringing competitive air fares and a new style of service to the trans-Pacific market."
