In late June, Northwest Airlines announced that they would allow customers to pay for tickets using their paypal accounts. 

“Adding PayPal as a payment option on nwa.com gives customers more flexibility when paying for their next trip,” said Al Lenza, vice president distribution & e-commerce at Northwest Airlines.

Now Southwest Airlines follows suit by adding the feature when purchasing a ticket. 

Stephanie Tilenius, vice president of merchant services for PayPal. "Our customers prefer to use PayPal because of the security and convenience it offers. Now these customers can use PayPal to buy tickets on one of the nation's most popular airlines."

Additionally customers using the NWA.com site to book their ticket using paypal can earn an additional 500 miles.
