Chile's LAN Airlines SA Invests in Boeing for Long-Haul Fleet

The largest investment in their fleet and Chile’s LAN Airlines SA has chosen Boeing to fill that order.  LAN Airlines SA placed an order for 26 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft and will lease an additional six from companies for a total worth estimated at $3.2 billion dollars. 

Included in the order is the option for an additional 10 Boeing 787’s between 2017 and 2018. 

lan.JPGLAN Airline SA officials said that the purchase will allow them to replace older aircraft and expand their international network. 

Chief Executive Enrique Cueto said, "This historic investment assures the future growth of the company."  LAN is apart of the oneWorld alliance and has several flights a day to Miami International Airport from South America, which has seen incredible growth rates.

That really was a great interview. I'm so glad Boeing and their design teams took into account more than the airlines needs.

Now only if more US airlines, besides NWA and CO, would order these.
