The pilot’s union at American Airlines (AMR) has to be fuming. The board at American has approved another round of stock bonuses to executives in 2010. The stock bonuses are based on several key factors between 2007 and 2009 including the stock’s valuation and performance against other major carriers.
Union members argue that the bonuses are inappropriate while employees continue to work under reduced wages and benefits, while executives argue that their compensation is less than similar sized companies and are needed to keep top talent around.
