
Here is a sampling of some new routes:
Continental Airlines began service from Newark's Liberty to Athens the other day. This daily departure is Continental's 29 trans-Atlantic destination. Continental will be using a 174-seat Boeing 767-200ER aircraft on the route.
Delta Air Lines continues their international expansion with new routes to Korea and Romania. Delta began service from Atlanta to Seoul on a Boeing 777-200ER, and from New York’s JFK International Airport to Bucharest, Romania on a Boeing 767-300ER.
United Airlines resumed their Taipei and San Francisco route using a Boeing 777. United halted service to Taipei in 2003 after the SARS outbreak that resulted in poor numbers.
US Airways began several new European destinations this past week. US Airways began service to Zurich, Athens, Greece and Brussels, Belgium.
