
Emerging from bankruptcy protection just days ago, Delta Air Lines started selling stock on the New York Stock Exchange again. CEO Jerry Grinstein signaled his confidence in the company by purchasing 1,000 shares of new Delta stock.
Delta's new common stock will be under the ticker name, "DAL" The airline also gave the new common stock to approximately 39,000 noncontract Delta Air Lines employees.
Delta will be participating in the opening and closing of the NYSE today. The opening bell of the NYSE was rang from the airline's newly redesigned international check-in lobby at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Employees, guests and various other individuals are traveling to New York to ring the closing bell from Wall Street.
