Frontier Airlines Holdings Inc., (FRNT) The parent company of Denver based Frontier Airlines is using technology to improve customer services. Beginning April 1st, Frontier Airlines will begin a 'cashless cabin.'
In-flight products, namely DIRECTV, pay-per-view movies and alcoholic beverages, are now exclusively available for purchase using credit or debit cards instead of cash. The new service will eliminate the need for correct change and is expected to expedite the in-flight service process.
It is about time that the airlines learned this lesson. Who really carries cash now anyways? And if you do, it's probably not anything smaller than a 20 dollar bill.
Frontier Airline's flight attendants will use a PDA device to swipe cards and allow passengers to enjoy TV service and other features more quickly.
"This is one of several enhancements we intended to make in the coming months to improve what is already hailed by some as the best service in the industry," said Chris Collins, Senior VP of Operations.Bravo to Frontier Airlines!
