Virgin America just had another multi-million dollar injection of cash from their American investors, pushing them well past their majority of American ownership. Cyrus Capital Partners and Black Canyon Capital will provide an additional $10 million, $7.5 million and $2.5 million respectively, in voting equity investment in Virgin America.
This will hopefully please the Department of Transportation as they are reconsidering Virgin America's request to fly in the United States.
"We felt it was important to ensure that Virgin America has the best financial resources possible when it launches," said Cyrus Capital COO and partner Robert Nisi.
"We are confident that once certified, Virgin America will be the best airline in the U.S. marketplace, bringing competition and quality unlike anything today's passengers have experienced," said Nisi.
I'm getting antsy. I want VA to fly. I'm ready for them to shake up the industry.
