It looks as if pilots flying for Frontier Airlines Holdings Inc., (FRNT), the parent company of Frontier Airlines seem to be comfortable with their new contract with the company. Their new four year contract, approved earlier this week, boosts retirement benefits and helps protect jobs at the airline. The contract is slated to take effect on March 1st.
"We're pleased that the members have ratified this," said Jeff Thomas, president of the Frontier Airline Pilots Association.
The new contract calls for a cost of living increase for the pilots but may include a pay scale decrease in the future. For the airline it will help decrease some operational costs and allow them to use non union pilots for their regional service, Lynx, starting later this year.
This is a good move. It looks like the management and labor groups are getting along at the airline. If Frontier wants to continue to have stellar service and keep their costs low they need to work with their employees to help them accomplish the task.
