Politicians in Chicago are taking the next step in the Passenger Bill of Rights saga that is engrossing the airline industry.   Aldermen Edward M. Burke, Danny Solis and Issac Carothers say they are determined to ensure humane treatment for airline passengers.  Airlines that "hold passengers hostage" -- and fail to enact a passenger bill of rights -- would not be allowed to land at O'Hare and Midway airports under a crackdown proposed by these three influential Chicago aldermen.  Chicago owns the runways and gates where the airlines land. 

All of this comes as JetBlue has been battling back from a week of cancelled flights that left the airline besieged. 

With over 35 domestic and international carriers it could be difficult for Chicago to just place restrictions on which airlines can and can not land.  It will be interesting to see if this proposal will pass and how it will be put into place if it does pass.
