Greetings from Chicago O'Hare International Airport. I'm on the road today, taking some time away from the stresses of work and life and having a little fun on the road. I'm doing a segment run with United today so I can keep my status in Mileage Plus.
Today's trip includes stops in Chicago, Washington DC and Denver. But the worst thing about traveling is the fact that I have to pay for internet access. I broke down and paid the daily fee for here in Chicago that transfers to other airports. Here is what is wrong. I play nearly as much for monthly access at home as I do for a day pass at some airports throughout the country. With business travel being the major source of income for a lot of airlines, why are the airports not providing this service free to travellers? Does it cost the airport that much to operate and maintain a wifi network?
Why can airports get away with charging people to use the system? I believe that it should be a system that is free to travellers, all travellers, not just the ones that live in the airport but how about those that just love to travel, or those that travel to see family?
I just feel so cut off when I cant get to email. Tell me what you think? Should it be a free service? A free service to those frequent fliers? A free service to all. Or should it be a pay as you go service?

If you don't have enough patience to wait for a few hours to connect with your e-mail, then pay for the privilege. It's not a necessity.
