What is HotelReservations?

Hotel Reservations is a website that caters to supplying the lowest hotels, motels, vacation rentals and vacation packages to consumers.  With over 70,000 properties worldwide, HotelReservations can provide travelers with great prices on the places they want to stay for both leisure and business travel.  Even though the name might imply that they are all about hotels, don’t let that fool you.  They also offer complete vacation packages, all inclusive packages, flights, rental cars and so much more.  So when it comes to picking out that holiday vacation, no matter where it’s at in the world, check out Hotel Reservations.

So Why Pick HotelReservations?

Most of the online travel sites are starting to look alike.  But after looking at a lot of hotel sites, I actually like this layout better.  The site presents just enough information not to overwhelm you but enough information to allow you to make an informed decision. 

Refined search features also help narrow searches down.  If you want a swimming pool and a fitness center at your hotel, simply check mark that box and the search is underway to narrow down your choices. 

I personally like the way the flight selector is laid out.  Arrival and departure times are highlighted in red for easy quick reference and are offset in order to give the user a matrix look to better identify arrival/departure times.  The other thing I like is that the site gives you the type of aircraft on that flight.  Something an aviation buff like me really likes. 

HotelReservations, unlike some other sites has a 1800 number plastered all over their website.  By offering that extra few touches allows the site to separate themselves from the others and stand out.  I called their phone number to test out their support and I was quite surprised.  It says you can call 24 hours a day, so I did just that.  Called once at 3am CST and another time at 4.30pm CST and got service beyond what I thought I would have received.  The service representative was polite and accommodating.  She even offered small talk while processing my destinations.  It is hard to find customer care by phone anymore in travel, without having to pay for it.  All of this was free, 24 hours a day. 

Some Things to Fix

I found a few things I might fix with the site.  The phone waiting time was slightly more than I wanted to wait, especially when I called at 3am.  The site listed the Boeing 757 as a prop plane and it is not a prop plane.  But overall, I am really quite satisfied with the site.  Their prices are pretty good.  The selection is really quite nice.  And the customer service adds that little bit to make the experience all worth while. 

I’d give the site… 4.25 planes out of 5.  There are some areas that need improvements, but overall, an excellent site to shop for flights, hotels, motels, vacation houses, car rentals and vacation packages.
