The layout is more soft with less clutter than most other airline's websites. I like the in-depth detail about the type of aircraft, miles and other details regarding specific flights is displayed right there. Links on the old site with that information were hard to load and always came up with an error. The expanded search options and integrating E-Fare into your search makes for a pleasant surprise.
I do however have a few complaints. After having a flight status change, the website reflects the change but still have my old flights on there. So in other words, I have two confirmed tickets to the same destination from the same departure airport at two different times. It's quite annoying. It's been a week since the change and my account has not been altered to show the new flights.
So I call, wait, wait and wait even longer. The person on the other end of the phone doesn't know what is happening in the system.
I do like how if I wanted to I could change my seat online whenever I wanted to. However with all of my flight status changed, I am unable to modify my seats. I like the concept of being able to change my seats online if needed.
Overall I like the new site. I'm with Upgrade, welcome to the year 1999, United Airlines. One thing I have to offer United, keep the site simple. If you complicate it too much people will give up and do one of two things: call you to help them book a flight or go to the competitor.
As a side question... If I have double flights those days am I earning segments/miles on those flights too? (Because if I am, they can change my flights all they want, multiple times if they want too. No need to worry about those mileage runs at the end of the year to make sure I keep the status, just have the airline change my flights around to earn double credit.)
