In a message sent to its members, the Allied Pilots Association national leadership, "has informed management that when the pilots see some immediate improvements to our contract, we will enthusiastically support new long-haul flying."
This comes as American and their pilots have started to talk about a new contract. Right now the flight time between DFW and Beijing would exceed the contractual time agreements between the union and the airline. The union okayed an exception when American started flying from Chicago to India.
American pilots are upset that management has taken and taken even after the unions gave up billions to keep American from filing bankruptcy protection and have ignored "pilots' legitimate expectations."

After record profit and raise for CEO and high management then they close down a reservation office which includes their Asian Language reservation desks, and they say they want to fly to China and expand in Asia? Well, they could start by flying the routes they already have at this time to Asian city like KIX or TPE. For a company that whats Asian routes, they sure drop their "other" Asian routes and Asian Language desk pretty fast, guess the top officers need MORE bonus to take home. Hope the pilots can win this one.
