A discussion about the airline industry, airline employees, and all things related

It seems as if all this blog revolves around is reporting profits, losses, possible strikes and other things that are not always good news.  So instead today I'm posting some good news from the world's largest airline, American Airlines. 

American Airlines said it will work with amFAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, on a new awareness campaign to raise support for research into HIV and AIDS.  The campaign is intended to encourage area companies to join in supporting the Foundation's crucial scientific mission.

"As a company that operates globally, American Airlines fully recognizes that stopping the spread of AIDS will take everyone's help," said Gary Jarnigan, General Manager for American Airlines in Atlanta. 

Gary Jarnigan continues, "We've learned through our years as amfAR supporters that AIDS is everyone's problem. By helping amfAR to continue funding the work of scientists doing research on AIDS, we believe there is hope for a cure."

American Airlines donates to the research and allows employees through payroll deductions to donate to the cause.  American also sponsors an annual fundraiser called "Two by Two for AIDS and Art," which raises millions of dollars in support of amfAR.
