
This comes as Mesaba is trying to impose wage concessions on their labor groups in an attempt to keep the airline from fading into the horizon. Both airlines are facing re bids on their routes and could be shut out completely if they do not cut their labor significantly.
The flight attendants have already authorized their union, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, to call a strike. The regional airline, which was given permission in July to void its labor contract with the flight attendants, also asked the court to clarify the scope of the terms it must implement, including those related to future pay and benefit increases, according to court documents.
