
According to the memo, all flight attendants are being recalled to fill permanent vacancies at their former bases, effective Sept. 30. Northwest issued a statement confirming details of the memo from Suzanne Boda, vice president-inflight services.
Flight attendants have argued they're free from requirements of the Railway Labor Act because Northwest imposed pay cuts and other changes on them without their consent. The decision by U.S. District Court Judge Victor Marrero is expected soon.
The move will hopefully bring service back to Northwest flights. I've been bumped onto a few of them and service was not good. Labor relations between NWA and their unions have never been great. Tension between the groups could further erode in the next few days as a ruling from the judge is expected. NWA will also be bringing back some pilots but they did not release any numbers regarding that.
