
The company has only $10 million dollars in cash and is running into trouble as the days drag on. Pilots have even said they'd rather see Mesaba go out of business than work for the rates Mesaba is proposing.
A few weeks ago, a judge say that Mesaba could not impose terms on employees without their agreement. Mesaba says they will start imposing new terms later this week if nothing is agreed upon. Talks will continue even through the court process.
The airline which is a feeder for Northwest is facing the fact that NWA has cut their schedules and reduced their aircraft. And even more daunting is that fact that they may not even have a contract when NWA starts to fully operate CompassAir. Mesaba and Northwest are the only carriers at many cities in Minnesota and North Dakota.
