The AFA filed the appeal with the Second Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday and will ask for an expedited ruling, union spokesman Ricky Thornton said.
The AFA said it sees little point in pursuing talks with Northwest. The airline's flight attendants have twice rejected tentative agreements with the airline over pay cuts.
This ruling will allow NWA to pursue their goal of reducing their labor by nearly $1.4 billion. With the latest ruling, the flight attendants have little recourse with the airline. However, it has been noted that vacation and sick time leaves have been up at the airline. Given that, the Union has told their members that they do not condone them using their time to "slow" down the airline. No new talks are scheduled and no new work action is planned.
