American Airlines Testing New Purchase Program

Is American Airlines turning into RyanAir? But will the American flying public accept any changes to the system and services. American Airlines has announced a one-week test of a new a la carte snack option. The option will be part of the main cabin Food on Board program.

The airline said that, effective immediately, customers on selected test flights this week can purchase Klondike Movie Bites ice cream, Otis Spunkmeyer Chocolate Chunk Cookies, Lay's Stax Crisps or Twix '4 To Go' bars for $3, or Dannon bottled water for $2.

Select flights from Dallas Fort Worth to Los Angeles, DFW to Miami and New York JFK to San Francisco routes between September 25 and October 1 will be apart of the test program.

Most recently American Airlines tried to charge for non alcoholic beverages on their flights in California, but that test was a complete flop. So with airlines trying to make money any way they can, will this test be a success?
