The Embraer 175's, which can accommidate up to 86 passengers will replace the Embraer 145's that are only 50 seaters. Bryan Bedford Chairman and CEO of Republic Airways said, "We are very pleased to expand our relationship with US Airways with the addition of these 30 Embraer 175 regional jets. Our company has an excellent tradition of delivering safe, reliable and cost-effective service to our customers and airline partners."
Recently Continental Airlines said it would hire Republic Airways to operate their regional services.

The remaining 10 planes will replace other aircraft or be used as additional jets.
The planes will be delivered beginning next year at a rate of one to two planes per month through the summer of 2008.
Financial terms of the agreement weren't disclosed.
US Airways Group Inc., (LCC) was up (1.28) today at the end of trading to 50.05 a share.
