The Professional Flight Attendants Association said in a memo to its members on Sunday that it has two meetings scheduled this week with negotiators for Northwest.
Last week the airline won permission from bankruptcy court Judge Allan Gropper to reject the flight attendants' current contract and impose new terms that grant the carrier $195 million in annual savings.
Gropper delayed his order until next week, however, to give the parties more time to negotiate.
The union also wants to persuade members not to replace it with a rival union, the Association of Flight Attendants. Flight attendants are to conclude a vote on that matter on Thursday.
