Aviation News (Blog)
From what I gather, two individuals run the site and go by the screen names, "Cold Draft Beer" and "MillerLite." The individuals know their avation stuff. So take a look at their site. They have incredible pictures of an American Airlines Boeing 767 which was ripped apart by a HPT failure.
The aircraft (N330AA) was undergoing a ground run-up of the number 1 engine when the problem occurred. The engine was being tested after the crew reported unusual responses from the engine during a flight from New York.
The engine was at more than 90% power when the failure occurred, either in the shaft or the high pressure turbine (HPT) area. The disk in the engine failed, ripping through the engine, the underside of the aircraft, and damaging the number 2 engine. A resulting fire occurred as fuel lines were probably cut.
The failure occurred when the plane was being checked over in LA, and the crew escaped without any major injuries.

A friend at AA, said this A/C was a W/O.
That all I know. He did send me photos all I can say is WOW.
