Some airlines are offering new services, most of them starting this summer and others starting towards the end of summer. 

 AirTran, JetBlue, Spirit and Frontier are all offering new services.

AirTran today launched new nonstop service to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport from Atlanta. The daily seasonal service will run through Sept. 5, 2006, and will be served by the airline's popular Boeing 737 aircraft. Beginning today, AirTran Airways will offer two daily flights between Atlanta and Seattle and add a third daily flight in August. 

The low-fare carrier celebrated the departure and arrival of the inaugural flight with Seattle flair and Atlanta hospitality. At Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Seattle's famous Pike Place Market Fish Mongers tossed in new service as part of a fish throwing contest to benefit the Make- A-Wish Foundation. When the flight arrived in Seattle, AirTran Airways, joined by another group from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, presented Seattle Seahawk Matt Hasselbeck the key to the airline's fleet - making him an honorary AirTran Airways Captain.

"From Peachtree to Pike Place, business and leisure travelers now have a low cost, high quality option for travel to and from Seattle during the busy summer season," said John Kirby, AirTran Airways director of strategic planning and scheduling. "Our nonstop Seattle flights offer convenient schedules, Business Class seating and complimentary XM Satellite Radio on every flight."

Frontier Airlines becomes the first low cost American carrier to enter with daily services to Calgary, .  Frontier will begin new service between its Denver International Airport (DEN) hub and Calgary International Airport (YYC) in Alberta, , starting today, May 25, 2006. Frontier is the first American low cost carrier to serve the Canadian air travel market.

 Frontier's first flight will depart from gate 52 in Denver at 8:15 a.m., arriving in Calgary at 10:45 a.m. Two Royal Canadian Mounted Police Officers will welcome passengers, including Denver's Canadian Consul General, Michael Fine, on board the first flight.

The two daily non-stops between Denver and Calgary will utilize Frontier's JetExpress service operated by Horizon Air, featuring the 70-passenger CR7 aircraft. Travelers will enjoy convenient connections to 38 Frontier cities throughout the including Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, Orlando and Washington D.C., as well five Mexican resorts including Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, and Cozumel.

JetBlue hopes to enter Aruba with their service later this summer.  JetBlue the nation's No. 2 low-cost carrier, said on Thursday it has requested authority from the U.S. Department of Transportation to provide daily nonstop flights to Aruba.

Pending approval from both governments, the proposed service from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport would operate daily from Sept. 15, the company said.

Spirit Airlines, today inaugurates new daily non-stop service from Detroit Metro to San Francisco International Airport.

In celebration of Spirit's inaugural San Francisco flight, inaugural customers will enjoy a dark chocolate gift courtesy of Ghirardelli Chocolate.
