3. Where are the Blue Angels based out of?The Blue Angels were established in 1946 and based out of NAS Jacksonville, Florida and then in later years they moved to NAS Pensacola, Florida where they are still based today. Winter training is performed during the end of December to the end of March each year in NAF El Centro, California.
4. When you worked in the PR department for the Blue Angels, what were some of your daily tasks?
All members of the team represent not only the Blue Angels and its team, the US Navy and the country so in that aspect we are all part of the PR team but there is within the Blue Angels a specific department that deals with public relations and I would say personally for me I preferred maintaining the jets to fly safely and air shows but all team members were encouraged whenever possible to interact with schools, hospitals and be positive role models for them, not necessarily trying to sell them the idea of becoming a Blue Angel or joining the Navy but to stay in school, stay off drugs and be the best that they can be.
Although, when Peter worked for the Blue Angels, the internet was just becoming peopular, he believes that the blogging networks that promote the Blue Angels is always a positive thing. Any sort of press, whether online, in print, or by word of mouth is always a good thing.
