I'm heading out on a bit of an extended weekend to San Francisco. If you would like to track my flights or any other flights in the sky, I was directed towards this very cool site.

FlightAware is a free online tracker of IFR Fllights. It has a large amount of information and it is something the nerdy aviation lovers can get lost in for hours.

On the left hand side is where you can enter the airline and then the flight number. Or if you know the tail number of the aircraft you can track it that way. It also gives information regarding incoming, departing, enroute and scheduled flights at an airport.

My flights:

United Airlines flight 6845 Operated by Skywest Airlines from Fargo to Chicago at 6.04am. CRJ (Canadian Regional Jet)

United Airlines flight 0137 from Chicago to San Francisco departs at 10am. Boeing 777-200.

I will be visiting several of the towers in the Bay area. So look for updates on those.

What a good idea Rob-- I'll use the tracker. I often wonder if these programs make my laptops crash sooner... Thoughts?
