Frontier Goes Canadian
Frontier Airlines will begin new service between its Denver International Airport (DEN) hub and Calgary International Airport (YYC) in Alberta, Canada beginning May 25, 2006.

n924fr.jpgThe two daily non-stops between Denver and Calgary will utilize Frontier's JetExpress service operated by Horizon Air. The new service will also offer convenient connections to 38 Frontier cities throughout the US including Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, Orlando and Washington D.C., as well five Mexican resorts including Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, Mazatlan and Cozumel.

The new service will be the first US low cost carrier (LCC) flights into Canada and Frontier's second international destination, after Mexico. Frontier began service to its first international destination, Cancun, Mexico, in December 2002 and in the past three years grew the service to include seven Mexican resorts.

"Frontier is proud to be the first American low cost carrier to fly to Canada, and we are confident that Calgary, which has long been underserved for low fares and excellent service to the US, will fast become a top market for Frontier," said Jeff Potter, president and CEO of Frontier.

Potter continues, "We believe that Calgary, which has solidified its position as one of the primary economic drivers of the Canadian economy, is the ideal first Canadian destination for us, given its strong parallels to our home town of Denver and a common bond in the strength of the oil and gas industries in both communities. And of course, we can now boast our second set of Rocky Mountains, which enables us to deliver to our passengers some of the most breath-taking scenery in North America."

"Frontier Airlines has recognized that Calgary is a prime corporate headquarters location and Canada's energy capital," said Mayor Dave Bronconnier. "I would like to welcome Frontier to Calgary and congratulate them on bringing their service to our city".

"The addition of Frontier Airlines to the Calgary market offers another great choice for travelers," said Julien De Schutter, Vice President of Airport Marketing. "As Canada's first US low cost carrier destination, we are very pleased that Frontier has selected Calgary to be a part of their growing network."
