"An overwhelmingly positive response from our customers and a positive revenue impact for the airline has prompted us to continue spreading our consumer-friendly pricing structure across even more of our network," said Scott Kirby, executive vice president, sales and marketing. "We've made great strides in introducing a low cost pricing structure to many East Coast markets that were not previously served by a low-cost carrier."

With the exception of Seattle and a few other cities, most of the
reductions came on the smaller feeder routes already coming into
the hubs. A lot of these cities are keys for USAir where they can
build up a steady flow of clients that will experience the airline and
become lifetime fliers. These fare reductions come on the heels of
criticism over USAir's amazingly high fares on some of the eastern
routes to and from Philadephia.
